Cintas Corporation helps more than one million businesses of all types and sizes by providing a wide range of products and services that enhance customers’ images and keep facilities and employees clean, safe and looking their best. Cintas Facility Services wanted to increase its brand awareness in the education sector and drive leads. 

Solution

Mulberry developed and executed the Custodian of the Year contest, which showcases heart-warming stories of hard-working school custodians who do much more than clean our nation’s schools. The winning custodian receives $10,000, while their school is awarded $5,000 in products and services. In addition, the top three finalists earn an all-expenses-paid trip to the ISSA Show North America and the remaining finalists each receive a $1,000 check from Cintas.  

Mulberry and Cintas gather nominations from schools across the U.S. through PR, social media and direct communications. Cintas selects the top 10 finalists and Mulberry promotes the finalists in each market. The general public votes to determine who gets crowned America’s Custodian of the Year. 

To announce the winner, Mulberry coordinates a surprise media event at the winning
custodian’s school, as well as the top two runners-up. This includes event planning and local and national media coordination.
