CHICAGO – July 19, 2021 – Mulberry Marketing Communications and the Global Biorisk Advisory Council™ (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, have been recognised with an Award of Excellence by the PRSA Chicago Skyline Awards, Chicago’s premier public relations and communications awards competition. The Award of Excellence recognises the campaign promoting the GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation program. The program launched in May 2020 and has since helped thousands of organizations around the world improve their approach to cleaning, disinfection and infection prevention.

GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation helps facilities like schools, airports, stadiums, malls and others prepare for, respond to and recover from biorisks such as SARS-CoV-2. Mulberry was responsible for executing a strategy to help GBAC generate awareness for GBAC STAR among facility managers, executives and consumers.
Ongoing media relations enabled GBAC STAR to be featured regularly in trade, local and Tier 1 stories focused on pandemic response and cleanliness concerns. In just eight months, more than 1,800 pieces of coverage highlighted GBAC STAR accreditation. Coverage was secured in numerous countries, including the United States, Canada, China, Australia, India, France, South Africa and more.
The campaign surpassed GBAC’s objectives by achieving more than 1,400 completed accreditations and over 2,900 commitments by the end of 2020. Additionally, GBAC was able to secure more than 80 partnerships to support widespread adoption.
