EVBox wanted to create excitement for its new NEVI-compliant and Buy America–compliant electric vehicle (EV) charging station. As part of President Biden’s goal to build a national network of 500,000 EV chargers along America’s highways, businesses located within one mile of a major highway can receive funding from $5B in government incentives to purchase NEVI-compliant chargers. EVBox wanted to create awareness for its new NEVI-compliant chargers and position itself as a leader.
Mulberry organized a press event at EVBox’s U.S headquarters in Libertyville, IL. The event included attendance by EV Box CEO and senior leadership, Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker and Senator Dick Durbin. Legislators discussed Illinois’ position as a leading developer of green technologies, and EV Box discussed how its new charging station can help make long-distance travel by EV a reality. Mulberry developed press materials for the event, including a press release and media advisory, along with speaking points and run of show, and pitched the event aggressively.
Mulberry secured attendance at the event from WLS-CHI (ABC), WAND (NBC), WGN TV, Chicago Tribune and The Daily Herald. TV segments were picked up by all five local television networks and the news was promoted on broadcast radio affiliates.
